Elementary History Teacher has a good post on the educrats in her state mandating that social studies be taught thematically instead of chronologically.
Edspresso has a good post on the new Kipp Philadelphia school which has in three short years managed to get some amazing results out of its first cohort of students, now in seventh grade, who've been in the school since fifth grade. I'll have more on this tomorrow.
Kitchen Table Math has had a lot of good posts on mastery learning in the past week that are a good continuation of my "how we learn" posts.
