I cannot watch this thing enough. I'm guessing the girl was coached to mention hot-button "victimized" nations and tried her darnedest to work them in. All for the entertainment of the rest of us U.S. Americans.

Oh my. The poor little thing.
I apologize in advance that my comment doesn't add much to the discussion, but there's only one thing to say here:
"Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh."
It's easy to laugh at this amazing vapidness and incoherence but much harder to come up with a serious answer to the question.
So why this ignorance o geography?
because geography and history have given way to the vapid and incoherent social studies.
