Same as it ever was -- continued

The Obama administration has posted "a series of documents outlining the research that supports the proposals in its blueprint for revising the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA)."

Here is the document for Career- and College-ready students analyzed in my last post.

Embarrassingly, the document doesn't appear to cite any actual research.  More embarrassingly, what the document sets out as research clearly isn't research.

I wonder if these documents were submitted to the What Works Clearinghouse for review?

EdWeek and a few other bloggers have picked this up, but mainline media, "think tanks," the Institute for Education Sciences and the American Education Research Association haven't touched it.

That the Blueprint is based on puff rather than research will sooner or later become obvious. Better for all if it's sooner rather than later.

Secretary Duncan's long "Learning and Listening" tour netted a lot of talk but no learning. He ended with exactly the same four tenets he started with.

Don't forget all the money get thrown around. That supposedly cures all evils. Can't wait to hear the spin when it doesn't. I supposed Bush will somehow get lamed.
