Things have changed since the hardcover edition. Charters are now in vogue:
When the hardcover came out, the publisher insisted on taking “charter” out of the subtitle, saying that it would depress sales. For the paperback, the publisher decided to put it back. Apparently, they think charter schools are hot.
Just to show you my street cred, my bookmark to Joanne's site is so old it still says Read Jacobs, the name of Joanne's blog when she was pretty much the only edu-blogger on the net. My how times have changed.
